Statement: Bredgade Kunsthandel is a dealer of Danish modern art in several areas including classical modernism and contemporary art. When visiting the gallery you will find a section of each genre. We welcome you in exploring the exhibitions, and we are pleased to present you with more choices of paintings to meet your specific needs. The collection of classical modernism constitutes a unique assemblage of visual art and sculptures. It contains works by more than 200 Danish artists, primarily from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. Paintings from this period are characterised by their naturalistic idiom – a style formulated by the most innovative artists in the wake of modernism in Denmark. Today, many of these artists are represented within private collections and museums. Our section for contemporary art offers a broad selection of many styles. You will find a variety of artistic expressions including paintings, graphics and sculptures. The works displayed are selected from artists based on quality and the spirit of the time.
